ARNE TALSMANN

"ARBEIDSMANDEN" was a joint project with Grethe Melby, Thomas Sivertsen and Jørgen Larsson. It consisted of a Concert and an installation and was part of Stunt Club at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo the 5. and 6. of March 2002. We performed Norwegian workers songs in the cafe and painted the exhibition space white while the same songs (in a somewhat different disguise) was played from two speakers. On the walls were projections of the lyrics from the songs, in white font, mixed whith live input from a camera faced towards our work space. As the painting went on, the new whiteness of the walls "covered" the lyrics.

Sound Installation in the St. Jørgen hospital, where 6000 leppards died during the leprasy period in Norway.

A short dance and animation film by Gaute Hesthagen. Shot at the top of Mount Ulriken in Bergen with two dancers. The city landscape and extra animations are done in collaboration with BUG.
The film was premiered at Grimstad Short Film Festival and has been shown all over the globe.

Crashing computers are mostly boring; everything freezes and you have to restart or give up.
The crash automata music machines (CAMMs) on the other hand, start playing wondeful music during their last minutes of up-time. CAMMs often play back random access memory (RAM) as if it was sound, because we make them believe that everything they remember is music.Sometimes CAMMs can be created, sometimes they create themselves.
CRASHING HAPPY is a double CD-release, whith the PT_BEK on the first and remixes by 10 composers on the other.
everything is created by the machines.
The first release, "CRASHING HAPPY - PT_BEK" involves a master CAMM, which has been working for
all the composers and sound-artists at BEK, the Pro Tools MIX24 system in the sound studio at BEK.
